W01 Reflection: Randy Pausch

I think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams because his parent let him explore his creativity.  He was able to write mathematic equations on the walls in his bedroom when he was a child.  He was able to be the “master of his own domain”.  I think this helps children to be independent and creative.  In the long run I think it helps them to think outside the box and give them the confidence they need to explore other options in life.  Randy Pausch focused on how to live your life the right way instead of how to achieve your dreams.  He said, “The dreams will come to you”.  After reading this weeks readings, I understand that more.  I feel that dreaming is important, in moderation.  If we dream too much I feel that it is an escape from reality.  Unless you are dreaming and then going to work, you aren’t going to get very far.  If you are dreaming and then acting, you will be much more successful in tho...
W01 Reflection: There were so many points that stood out to me this week during the videos and readings.  I found something useful and inspiring in every video and article I read.  I always love the videos and talks about how important it is to do what you love.  I found it interesting while watching the video of Guy Kawasaki when he said you can be miserable and poor but you can also end up being miserable and rich.  I found that I could relate to this in my families life.  My husband and I live in Southern California with our four children and we were so tired of the hustle so we sold everything and traveled.  My husband found a remote job that paid less and we lived our RV for the year traveling all of the United States.  We had less, we owned less, but we were so much happier! My favorite video so far has to be the one of Gordon B Hinckley.  He holds a special place in my heart, as he was the prophet when I first joined the church....
