W07 Reflection Final Post

·       If you had one final lecture to share with a group of students on what you have learned from this course, what would you share?

If I had one final lecture to share with a group of students on what I have learned from this course, I would share how important it is to keep your feet firm on the ground and to be humble and enjoy the journey.  We don’t always need to look at the end goal or the end results.  The most important parts of our lives are in the small day to day tasks.  Don’t wait for the success and happiness that is waiting for you in the future.  There is not one arrival, there are many and many throughout our daily lives.  There isn’t an end of learning; it’s a continuous process.  Serve people around you and learn what you need to in order to contribute to society.

·       What would be your last bit of advice to someone wanting to begin the entrepreneur journey?

My last bit of advice to someone wanting to begin the entrepreneur journey would be to not be afraid of failure.  Be willing to adapt to every day situations.  There aren’t bad days, or failed days.  When you have days that are filled with struggle and hardship, those are the days that mean a lot.  Those are the days when you are learning something.  Learning is a good thing, so these days are actually great days.  We are doing things to learn.  If you are doing something to just get to a finish line, then you have missed the point of the learning process.  Don’t be distracted and don’t focus on failure.  If you fail, it’s a good thing.

·       What words of advice, direction, or caution would you give him or her if you had only one chance to give your own last lecture?

The words of advice, direction, or caution that I would give him or her if I had only one change to give my own last lecture would be to focus on those things that matter most.  Don’t be too involved in one thing that you miss your family, or that you miss your children growing up.  Stay within the boundaries and guardrails that you have set for yourself.  You will never get those precious years back with your family and your children growing up.
